Anxiolysis with Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide, sometimes called “laughing gas,” helps children relax during specific procedures. Nitrous oxide is a safe and effective sedative agent mixed with oxygen and inhaled through a small mask that fits over your nose. It is not intended to put them to sleep but to help them feel calm and comfortable. The effects of nitrous oxide are temporary and wear off soon after the mask is removed.

IV Sedation

For those patients who are unable to tolerate dental treatment while awake, IV sedation can be considered.

We work with a group of anesthesiologists who come to our office to administer anesthesia and monitor patient’s vitals while we provide dental treatments.

In rare cases of patients with complicated medical history sedation in a hospital setting is required.

At Ridgeview this option is limited to special cases of pediatric patients who require advanced monitoring.
